Classic Achadinha Feta Cheese Salad

Fresh Feta Cheese Salad


  • 200g Achadinha feta cheese, cubed

  • 2 cups mixed salad greens (lettuce, spinach, arugula, etc.)

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 cucumber, diced

  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Start by preparing all your vegetables. Wash the salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and Kalamata olives. Toss gently to mix the ingredients evenly.

  3. Now, add the cubed feta cheese on top of the salad mixture.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. This will be your dressing.

  5. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and feta cheese. Make sure to coat all the ingredients with the dressing.

  6. Gently toss the salad to distribute the dressing and ingredients evenly. Be careful not to break the feta cheese cubes too much.

  7. Once everything is well mixed, taste a small portion and adjust the seasoning if needed by adding a bit more salt, pepper, or even a touch more vinegar.

  8. Transfer the salad to serving plates or bowls.

  9. You can serve the salad as is, or you can enjoy it with some crusty bread on the side.
